Campbell River Area Angel Group (CRAAG) announced the winners of its recent technology innovation competition for 2021, marking its second annual contest in the spirit of bringing tech investments to the Campbell River region which will result in huge investment development.

The winners of the 2021 technology development competition each received $200,000, as well as an angel investment. If the winners (or any participant for that matter) wish to build their own tech business, they are funded to continue their study or project. The rights are purchased by technology businesses, who continue to do research and development and attract investment.

CRAAG has been taking new and bold economic development steps for the Campbell River area for over a year now, aiming to establish the region as a high-tech growth area. The angel investor group has supported numerous entrepreneurs and start-ups during this time and funded an equal number of innovators.

The angel investor group is dedicated to economic growth via the idea of tech growth and giving organizations a chance to grow on a global scale and make a global impact with its product.

The tech hub CRAAG is creating is also supporting business relocation to the new region in hopes of sparking local competition, encouraging technology and investment development, and, therefore, driving economic growth for Campbell River.

Investment development in startups is based on this region’s innovative solutions in key areas, such as aquaculture, forestry, natural resource management, renewable and sustainable energy, food health, and clean-tech industries.
